Early Days.
From a pandemic hobby to a life-long passion, we aim to create high-quality products from ingredients grown right here in the Pacific Northwest. From our hearts to yours.
Growing up Jewish, bagels were far more than just a quick breakfast for Emily and Aaron. We ate them with our grandparents and fought for the seeded top half with our siblings. Fast forward to the pandemic, we found a bagel recipe on NYT and made a half dozen bagels every day for 10 months, tweaking the recipe along the way. We initially had no intention of starting a bagel shop but started baking and delivering bagels to friends and family in the beginning of 2023 a few times a week. Summer of 2023 we were able to take our bagels to farmers markets around Seattle and began home and wholesale delivery.
Our bagels are rolled, boiled, and baked here in Seattle. NYC inspired, but with local PNW ingredients.
Our mission is to make Seattle a bagel city.
Backyard BAgel Now
Located in the heart of the Fremont neighborhood, Backyard Bagel (est. 2023) is your local spot for fresh hot-out-the-oven bagels, schmear, and other baked goods like bialys, babkas, pizza and more. The Backyard also has delicious coffee beverages to pair with your bagel.
Open for breakfast and lunch.
